The market is holding a SILENT AUCTION for a ONE DAY/ONE NIGHT
RAFTING EXCURSION down the NOLICHUCKY or the FRENCH BROAD RIVER!!! This excursion is brought to us through a gift from USA RAFTS.
Bids will be collected at THE CORNER FARMER'S MARKET on
Saturdays between 8 AM and noon during market hours OR you can send in an email bid to market@walkerelammarket.com.
The announcement of the winner will be held on Saturday August
30. The trip has a value that induces us to ask for a MINIMUM BID of $100.00 and is valid for one year from the time of the award.
This auction is part of our ongoing campaign to raise funds to
keep the market operating. As you all know, it is through your patronage that we are able to bring you the variety of goods and services that the market has become known for. As we grow our need
for your help and support grows. We appreciate all of the enthusiasm and support that you have given our fund raising efforts and we will try to continue to bring not only great produce,
desserts, dairy and meats, but crafts above all, fun and camaraderie.
We hope that you will support the auction and tell your
friends about us so that they might join in the food and festivities the THE CORNER FARMER'S MARKET is becoming known for. Thank you all!

June, July and August is an excellent time for us to prepare for winter in many ways. We are one year old as of April and made a decision to not charge vendor fees in order to support a wide range of vendors, especially those in the surrounding neighborhoods. But we still have costs (tents, advertising, events), and set a goal to raise $2500 over summer.
One of our neighbors, Kristina Bostick, and her family quickly rose to the occasion and provided a substantial gift to support the market. Her family hopes to inspire others to step up, and she also kindly recorded a video.
Thank you Kristina

Lindley Elementary School Garden joins the Corner Farmers Market the First Saturday of each month this summer starting June 7th!
Celebrating 5 years, the Lindley Garden offers all students at Lindley the opportunity to grow and taste fresh vegetables and fruits! This experience teaches our young neighbors about nutrition and healthy eating habits as well as how things grow.
To kick-off the partnership, on the first Saturday, June 7, look for lots of kid-friendly fun…Giant Bubble-Making…Face Painting…Hula Hoop lessons from the neighborhood pros and more!
Plan to come and stay, grab brunch at Sticks and Stones and let the kids play. Enjoy this great chance to get to know your neighborhood farmers and artisans of all ages!

Thanks to the hardwork of Guilford County Health Department, Polly Evans at Faucette Farms, and others, the Corner Market now accepts SNAP/EBT cards.
SNAP/EBT card holders can use their cards to purchase wooden Market Dollars at the Elam Gardens stall.
The Market Dollars can be used at any of the vendor stalls that display the SNAP sign.
SNAP/EBT benefits can be used to purchase eligible items at the farmer stands or to participate in Faucette Farms Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program.
Come by and shop!
